Taking a look at a bit of Sundance history and its mission, I created a branding video for the festival. I wanted the video to have a raw 90's quality to give a sense of nostalgia and history, keeping in mind type and composition.
Exploring the history of the word "wetback" and my personal association with it, I created a four spine book to represent the struggle that comes with being identified as a wetback.
Many immigrants coming to the United States often feel encaged in this free country due to alienation that comes after leaving your home country behind. This inspired the form of the book, where stories of all kinds of immigrants are written through out the pages of the book that are in a way trapped within the four spines. Each immigrant story is connected in some way to the previous and the subsequent pages. The stories came form the website myimmigrantstory.com.
